TYPES OF FLOORING

We all understand the importance of flooring because it is the biggest single surface of any place or space. Flooring is an important element in every home, and there are many factors to consider when choosing the floor, including its compatibility with other decorative embellishments, budget, size of our space, the color of our walls, and which area we require flooring.

Before choosing any hardwood floors portland or or making a purchasing decision, always conduct research on its material, type, pros and cons, and what best meets your needs.

The different types of flooring material available in the market include

Laminate flooring is durable and easy to maintain and install.Laminate flooring is ideal for a family with children and pets.

Cons – This flooring is readily chipped and prone to moisture damage, making it unsuitable for use in a washing area, bathroom, or laundry room.

  • POLYVINYL CHLORIDE FLOORING:

Pros- PVC flooring is the best fit for any space, it is an extremely waterproof, non-porous, durable option for every house.

Cons- PVC flooring is quite expensive than laminate flooring. Heavy items can cause scratches on the floor.it emits toxic and volatile compounds. Sunlight might cause the colour to fade.

  • Porcelain or ceramic tile flooring:

Pros- the flooring material is porcelain and ceramic, it comes in different varieties, colors, and patterns. it is a waterproof, non-porous, durable, and long-lasting flooring option available.

Cons- Porcelain or ceramic tile flooring is slippery and cold. This flooring type is expensive, hard to install, and requires labor to install.

  • Natural stone tile flooring:

Pros- natural stones are bold and elegant. It includes granite, marble, travertine, and sandstone. These options are extremely durable and waterproof.

Cons- these floorings are slippery and cold. Natural stone tile flooring is expensive and requires a lot of preparation work before installation.

  • Linoleum flooring:

Pros- it is made up of linseed oil and cork. This flooring is eco-friendly, durable, affordable, and easy to install. A variety of colors and styles are available, it comes in the form of sheets.

Cons – prone to dents and cuts, its color starts changing when exposed to the sun.
